VB Statistics Have Many Analysis Uses
If you are a programmer who works in the Visual Basic, also known as VB, you already know that you have a lot of data at your disposal. There is a lot of information that can be kept in this structure, and the bigger it gets, the harder it starts being to keep track of it all. At the close of CeBIT '08, exhibitors in the ICT PHP visitor counter believed that their own business situation had improved considerably in comparison with the year before. The very positive run of this year's show obviously had a significant influence on this evaluation. At the close of the show, 49.1 percent of the exhibitors assessed their economic situation as good to excellent. At the outset of the show, this figure came to 48 percent. There can be no question that this year's CeBIT led to concrete business successes as well as to a more positive outlook for future business activity. In addition to an increase in total visitor numbers, the CeBIT audience was also of outstanding quality. The proportion of visitors from outside Germany rose once again: 126,000 visitors (122,200) came from abroad. The most significant increase in visitor numbers was recorded from Eastern Europe with 19,400 visitors (15,400) and from Asia with 16,000 (14,100). The growing importance of services to the economies in many countries was also reflected in the visitor statistics at CeBIT '08. 351,000 (325,700) fairgoers were from the services sector, with attendance from industry (134,500) and the trades (26,200) considerably smaller.
Once again, CeBIT bolstered its status as the meeting place for trade professionals and decision-makers. Like last year, some 85 percent of the fairgoers indicated that they were involved in purchasing decisions in a decisive, joint or advisory capacity. More than 262,000 visitors (259,600) came to the show with concrete investment plans. CeBIT continues to gain ground over its competition in the trade show sector. Close to one half of the visitors (49.5 percent; last year 46.9 percent) do not attend any other exhibition for the IT industry. The show concept and level of organization received very good reviews. Travel connections and the situation all around the exhibition site have also improved significantly and were rated as much better this year than in years past. Positive response from foreign exhibitors. CeBIT '08 welcomed a total of 2,859 companies (1998: 2,737) from outside Germany. This translated as another increase in the proportion of foreign exhibitors -- from 37.8 to 38.9 percent -- this year. These foreign exhibitors rated the trade show attendees as being more international and more highly placed than ever before. They emphasized the quality of the visiting professionals, particularly with respect to their decision-making authority, which came across time and again in numerous discussions and meetings over the past seven days.
Among the participating countries in Europe, Great Britain once again took the lead with 310 companies (1998: 290), followed by the Netherlands with 123 (117), France with 117 (104), Switzerland with 111 (101) and Italy with 92 (83) companies. British exhibitors also purchased considerably more display space this year, occupying a total of 10,249 sq. meters (8,698 sq. meters), while the French exhibitors presented their displays on 5,839 sq. meters (3,853 sq. meters). The European exhibitors were in a very positive frame of mind. For many, this year's show was the best CeBIT they had ever taken part in. Company representatives were particularly impressed by the new market opportunities presented by the enormous business potential that 7,341 CeBIT exhibitors are able to generate.
